So, if you’re boss or friend is hosting a casino themed party through a reputable company such as Casino Fun Nights, then you’ll want to make sure that you’re prepared. Gain the advantage in 7 simple steps.
1 – First of all; you can bet on either of the two hands
The beauty of Baccarat is that you can essentially bet against yourself by placing your money on the dealer’s hand. Or alternatively, you can roll with your own. Remember, it’s a game of odds, which means that if you’ve won a few hands in a row, the chances are that the dealer’s hand might be the more likely win the next time around. Choose wisely!
2 – Understanding how the cards are dealt out:
- Two cards are dealt out to the banker and the player at the beginning of the round
- Whichever person is holding the “shoe” (either the player or dealer / banker), will slide out on of these cards and place it facing up in the “player’s box” on the Baccarat table
- The next card to be placed will be the first of the banker’s hand, and placed in the Banker’s box on the Baccarat table
- Following that the banker will deal a further two cards; one to the player and a second banker card.
3 – Calling the point total of both sets of cards
The pair which totals the closest to 9 points wins round. The card values are as follows:
- Ten and face cards are worth zero points
- An ace card is worth one point
- All other cards are worth their face value (i.e., 6 of diamonds will be worth 6 points)
- If a total comes to more than ten points (e.g., 9 and 8 = 17), then the second digit of the total sum is the value of the hand (in this example, being 7)
- If the other hand is 3 + 3, the total evidently be 6, so, the player holding the 7 will be the victor
4 – The natural win
Simply put, if the first hand dealt totals 8 or 9; the game is over and either the player or banker wins, and all best are immediately cashed out.
5 – Drawing extra cards
If a player’s hand is between zero and five points, they will have the option to draw a third card. Anything higher than that will have to stand. – And of course, if a natural win has occurred (8,9 points has been dealt to the first hand) then no additional cards will be drawn.
- If the third card is 9, 10, face-card or ace, the banker draws when he has a 0-3, and stays with a 4-7
- If the third card is 8, the banker draws when he has a 0-2, and stays with a 3-7
- If the third card is 6 or 7, the banker draws when he has a 0-6, and stays with a 7
- If the third card is 4 or 5, the banker draws when he has a 0-5, and stays with a 6-7
- If the third card is 2 or 3, the banker draws when he has a 0-4, and stays with a 5-7
6 – Now go get em!
The best way to learn is to play. You might understand the basic concept of the game; however, your best bet is to get out there and put what you’ve learned into practice. Have fun and good luck! And of course, please gamble responsibly.
